A single rodent may produce 20–30 droppings daily. Based on the type, and size of the dropping, the species of the rat can be determine.

Tracks or Rub Marks
Non-resident rodents, such as those living outdoors, constantly travel the same route. The runways usually clear by presence of foot marks and greasy marks on walls.

Control Method of Rat

Rodenticide
Rodenticides such as anticoagulant work by stopping normal blood clotting. Rat death usually occurs 1–2 weeks after ingestion of a dose. The main benefit of anticoagulants over other poisons is that the time taken for the poison to induce death is longer and rats do not associate death with the bait.

Glueboard
Glue in the form of ‘ready-to-use glue boards’ are most often used against mice. Glue boards are installed inside the bait station.
